PHASING OUT THE ENCYLOPEDIA…

In the 90 school kids and tenagers did have the luxury of jumping on the internet to research thier school assignments. The would have to get out the good old encylopedia go to the index and hope that the topic they are researching has pages full of information. These days we just type a name or item into google and within seconds we have a free informative publication telling us everything there is possibly to know about this item or thing. Nobody realizes how much they rely on this website and infact most of you probably don’t understand what I am talking about, but here it is, the wikipedia!

Anything you type into google, wickipedia will normally feature in the first page of responses of possible website that may contain the information you want. In recent days Wickipedia has become my news source. They don’t display the news as such but the team working thier will be updating pages all the time. When I hear something about a scandal on the radio and want to hear more of the story I have on nuemorous occasions searched news websites and not found what i have been looking for. This was often my problem until i discovered that wickipedia will post it almost instantly as it happens. Within 20 minutes of something occuring, type it in to wickipedia and it will be up. Do you think the class of 1989 didn’t have instant updates on thier enclyopedia, and they still managed to do thier work on time, imagine how hard thing would have been for them. So in my opinion the wikipedia does not get enough credit for all the free services they provide, we all just take it for granted and don’t appreciate the hard working staff at wickipedia. The Encylopedia is out, gone, this is one of those that the kids will laugh about when we are olding, thinking we are ancient because we had to get our answers out of a book. Phasing out the encylopedia has started and almost ended infact book stores claim saving on encylopedia are down 71%. So like to see want all the talk is about. Check it all out on the WICKIPEDIA site.
